Origami
Origami originated in China and became popular in Japan. It is the art of folding paper. In Japanese, "ori" means folding and "gami" means paper. What's so good about folding paper? The type of paper folding we are talking about here is not the same as simply folding a sheet of paper to fit in your pocket so you can carry it around. What we're talking about here is folding paper into the shapes of birds, butterflies, flowers, dogs, cats, and even Pokémon. Origami is more than just folding paper. It is paper transformation. It's paper magic. It's art.
Origami can range from super complex with realistic models to simple models that are easier to fold but still very recognizable. As complex as they are, these models require carefully planned folds like brush strokes in a Rembrandt painting. If you're like me, sometimes random awkward folds are enough to create something recognizable.
